Crap day!
After spending three weeks coughing my guts up with a lung infection and feeling better, I had a go at continuing to sort out my garage at the
week-end. Two days of lifting lumps of car . . . no problem.
Today however, first my washing machine decides to suicide this morning.
How did it know I had saved up a few quid for bits?
Then all I did was start to make my bed, flipped the duvet over and got a stabbing pain in the back that made my legs give way. Seem to have twisted
and trapped a nerve. Now can't do Jack Sh1t!
Am I not the luckiest of men?

Welcome to the club Gents, I started to notice that when falling from horses that I did not bounce so well after hitting the deck and rather than
feeling a little sore the day after it bloody hurt for days on end, I was 32 at the time. So I guess that's the age that we all become decrepit
and only fit for the scrap heap. I will be 50 in 10 days and still going strong, maybe not quite so quickly but still hanging in there.

I'm currently waiting for an MRI scan on my left knee, which has been bad for years, but has been extremely painful for the last couple of
months - the right's on the way out as well. I'm just getting over a urine infection (unusual for men) that badly affected my holiday last
week. I'm due at the hospital for a sleep apnoea test on Wednesday. Last week I was diagnosed as diabetic! At 46, things are going downhill
rapidly

I passed 60 years ago, you cheeky young whipper snapper.
Well thanks guys, you have cheered me up no end.
What a bunch of scrappers? Hardly fit for donors.
Should we get some badges made? Already got a blue one.

This post needs a bit of balance so
50 next year, started going to the gym 6 months ago and feel fitter and stronger than when I was 30
Bench press is no where near what I could do at 25 but can still do just over 200lb a couple of times and weigh just under 13 stone so not a big
bloke.
My advise, get a good osteopath to straighten you up and get in the gym and start to swim, my sedentary life has not done me any favours over the last
25 years.

Keep up the good work.
I don't lead a sedentary life, I just don't do deadlines anymore. I do things when I am in the mood and when I'm not, I don't.
I'm 64, 5'9", with a 50" chest and a 38" waist, so not too porky.
Need to lose more weight because the Gliclazide I take for my diabetes makes you put weight on and my diffy ticker stops me from doing any what I
would call hard exercise. I can still pick up my anvil though.
Just felt like having a moan because it couldn't have happened at a worse time for me. I don't normally bleat about my 'woes'.
Just play the cards I'm dealt.

I'm in my mid 20s and already have knackered knees. My mum and her mum had a similar problem where we have knock knees and our shins are a bit
curved, which has made my feet twist outwards as I've grown. Now if I kneel down for more than a couple of minutes I have to be careful standing
up and people have actually commented on the creaking they can hear. It's especially bad when I've been kneeling on something cold like
the frozen concrete floor in the garage.

Here here, but not quite as extreme as you, as firstly im not THAT fit or THAT 'experienced' .
I feel im still young (IMO, im 33) i have no aches or pains, and since taking up a bit of commuting cycling for past 12 months, im as fit as I have
been in the 10-15 years or so. Im hoping that it continues with a bit of careful exercise just to keep things ticking over nicely!

To quote my now deceased Aunty Phyllis
"Getting old is bloody awful"
She died in her 90's of emphasimia following a life time of smoking, she was a tough old bird.
My trigger to stop smoking, when in mid twenties following a brief run I coughed up some blood
My trigger to get fit, when realisation set in that if I did not do something my fitness would preclude me from doing the stuff I enjoy.
Good health to all, she was 100% correct

I'm 30 now and definatly don't bounce back the same way
especially after a heavy night out, used to feel fine in less than 12 hours, now it can take 4 days

I've got something similar (or at least weird shape bones as my physio put it ) which has ment some muscles arn't as developed as they
should be, while others are quite strong - so the end result is my kneecaps have rotated to about 45° and move around more than they should
(subluxing aparently...) so a few hours of walking or a a few min running and my knee swells up to twice the size and takes ~2 weeks to go back down
I always had the creaking, but know its more like a very loud crunch you can here from the other side of the room! my physio visibly shudders
everytime it happens

I went to the doctors' surgery a few weeks ago for one of those NHS health checks they offer when you get to 60.
The nurse went through the usual list:
Blood pressure - middle of the 'normal' range.
Cholesterol - in the normal range.
Did a few other checks, all came out 'normal/good' apart from the fact that I should lose a couple of stone.
I'd feel quite smug, if it wasn't for the fact that I'm currently in the middle of a bout of the common cold, and feeling very sorry
for myself...
