I would wrap bubble wrap around them then lots of packing tape. Other than that.....not sure what to suggest.

You will need to drain the diff well. ie back plate off.
I sent one and the courier lost it for a week. They then said it was leaking oil (my arse) and gave me the choice of fetching it, 400 mile round trip
or there skip out back and refunding an arsed ebay customer.
So I was down the value of the diff + courier + ebay fees and it was very well wraped.

I sent a sierra differential through parcelmonkey for about £15 and also a pair of sierra tripod drivesshafts for about the same. I believe you can
send up to 32kgs for about £15 unless that has changed in the last year or two.
I drained the unit of oil and packed it in a heavy duty cardboard box recycled from the cardboard skip behind halfords
Cheers

I posted the 7.5" for around £11 on parcel 2 go. Ive never found parcel force or royal mail to be the cheap option.

Hi Steve Happy New Year,
We sent an escort one away the other week for about £8 or £9 through interparcel I think, in the past we have always used parcel monkey for heavy
stuff but the other firm were cheaper (and much slower!).
As said above it needs to be drained and well wrapped- we had a bad experience with a hydraulic ram once so I'd probably wrap in an old towel
then seal it all with cling film/shrink wrap then drop in a tight fitting box lined with polystyrene or 300 tesco carrier bags scrunched up or
something similar, can't be too careful these days!

Try interparcel.com if you have the volumetrics - you should also see if its cheaper for a single consignment.

+1 on the drain the diff and build a box frame.
The driveshafts I sent were well buble wrapped.
No trouble with either.

I purchased a diff not so long ago and it ended up at the holding depot and they refused to deliver it or return it due to a small patch of oil
staining on the box. I ended up having to go collect or they would skip it.
make sure it's drained very well and wrap in polythene or a few bin bags to stop any remnants of oil seeping through.
