3d models help!
hello all,
i work for a University and part of my job is getting experts from the university funding to work with businesses to help develop new products and
services.
I'm planning some new marketing materials and one of the creative types we've employed came up with the great idea of rather than just
having banner stands and leaflets we ought to have items that represented the projects we've done, that would encourage people to talk to us. So
for instance we're working on a sensor for minors helmets that will help check on well being underground, so in this case a Minors Helmet on the
stand might stimulate some discussion.
likewise we've done some stuff around put food, so we suggested a cat/dog, racing cars for some of the automtive projects we've done etc.
I could go and buy a toy car, a cat/minors helmet etc, but i wanted them all to be a consistent size/design.
I wondered if anyone knew of any simple/almost cartoonish 3d models for these sorts of simple objects (the details dont matter, but being consuistent
with the rest of the branding would be good, and avoid the stand looking like a boot sale!)
i know a few people are into 3d modelling here so thought i'd ask as my searches on the web have so far thrown up nothing.
regards
paul

You want to be careful - you can get into serious trouble for playing around with minor's helmets, these days!
You can probably find what you want in the Sketchup 3D warehouse, though: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/
GrabCAD and 3dcontentcentral can have useful and higher quality stuff, too, but you may need to download the appropriate viewer software for whatever
file format the model is in, before you can view it:

http://grabcad.com/
...but I'd suggest you do a search for a minEr's helmet, not minOr's if you want to avoid unexpected and/or illegal results.
