Help - Plastic tubing

Does anyone know the type of plastic tubing (and suppliers) used for making the twirly (seen some shaped as specs) drinking straws? I guess it is a type of plastic that can be shaped when hot?

Thanks

Mathew

PET see http://www.krazystraws.com/help.html

ETA For home I'd be tempted to try acrylic tube as it's more easily available (but more brittle) e.g.

Check it's food safe with the supplier though.
