More likely to be mink than otters, I don't really understand fish-botherers

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I see more otters than I do mink these days! Don't get me wrong there nice to see but they've knocked ten bells out of the fish population, to the extent that some rivers are almost void of fish where otters have moved in. Can you tell I'm an angler!?

Havent dabbled with my fly rod since I bought a small Fiat - Ive done the salmon &sea trout on the Coquet for quite a few seasons, best fish a 17lb salmon. Best naturalised Brownie was 2.5lb. Which was caught on a floating dt4 on 2lb line - using a lightweight Greys rod - by far the best fighting hard as nails fish Ive caught. The salmon was good fun, as I only had wellies on, not my waders and no net as I was only going for an hour, ended up in the river up to tail it.

I fully intend starting again once the car is finished - its a great hobby, can be social or solitary whatever you prefer.

Yes Im still fishing
