Bosch washing machine

Hi All,

Any Bosch washing machine experts out there?

I have a Bosch Excell wae28468uk/13 which won't spin. It was on a wash, then blew the house fuses and stopped. It powers up, fills, drains etc but won't spin. The drum moves freely and the belt is fine. I've whipped the motor out to check brushes, which have plenty of meat on them. When the spin kicks in, the motor jerks slightly then a hot electrical smell emanates from the back. The motor also turns easily by hand.

I'm thinking new motor but don't fancy a £200 "punt" ! Incase it's some other smaller bit...

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Jon

Have you cleaned out the filters? If the machine detects the filters are full (hard to pump out), then they don't spin. Our machine did the same for weeks - someone suggested this, and after 10 mins of cleaning out the scale, it has run without fault for the next 2 years!

check the armature segments carefully, you may have one or several showing signs of discolouration.
also a megger test to the casing as you rotate the armature may show a leak.either way its a new motor.

new one on ebay 151137123140 £100.00

these trade at £107.00 plus the vodka so its a good deal

Thanks for the replies, it's not the filter

Think I'll call someone out, who should confirm the right bit to replace!

As said, check the segments on the armature. It sounds like the motor, from experience, if the motors gone there is a good probability
the control module has been damaged too
