Way O.T. - Efficient Retailers Chillers?

Hi All.

Was hoping there might be someone in the refrigeration trade on here that could point me in the right direction.

I opened a small convenience store a few months ago and am looking to replace the chillers due to a pretty huge electricity bill.

I am looking for energy efficient stand alone chillers with doors but am not really sure what I should be looking for to guarantee they are efficient. Seems like everything I find in the web claims to be 'highly efficient' but obviously I want the best bang for my buck.

Any help or a nudge in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm no expert but pure physics suggests that a chest freezer would be more efficient. The cold air won't flow out every time Dorris opens the door to retrieve aunt Bessie's roast potatoes.

Not as pleasing to the shopper mind you

Contact all the cooler suppliers and get their running costs. Let them know you are looking around and you will get a better discount.

Also, contact pub suppliers and distributors and ask them. I got two coolers supplied free as I stocked their products, and they sold me another one very cheap to stock other brands.

Don't they have to come with one of these now?

Or is commercial stuff exempt?

Commercial refrigeration is not energy rated as yet!
It should come in, in 2015.
