Worst Pain?

Not really of any relevance but am currently laid up in a hotel, here's why:

Yesterday
07:30 step out of shower, twinge in left nut, OUCH! oh well one of those things
08:30 breakfast done and driven from hotel to site, ouch still a bit painful but I'm sure it will go away probably just knocked myself
09:30 bloody hell that really quite sore must have really knocked myself about!
10:30 oh F@ck! cant stand up straight, cant breath too deeply, feels like I've been kicked in the left nut except that initial excruciating agony just wont go away!
10:45 sweating buckets feel sick, just about manage to get to the local A&E luckily less than a mile from site
10:55 admitted to A&E
11:00 bit of morphine still excruciating but at least I can breath
11:30 wheeled into OR for emergency procedure to untwist the left one after having had to sign to say if its dead they can cut it out!
13:30 (ish) wake up in recovery still bloody painful but bearable

Wont go any further with the timeline, basically kept in overnight, they stitched the twisted one in place so it cant twist again and did the right one whilst they were in there. Not to be too graphic but my whole undercarriage looks like they used a hammer fro the surgery, black and blue and swollen doesn't cut it! The wife WILL NOT be getting lucky this weekend!

Oh and to cap it all I was released at 11:30 this morning and had to attend a site meeting at 14:00 and deal with a total twat of a contractor who I almost hurled outside and gave a taste of what I've been through in the last 24 hours, I hate meetings at the best of times but today wasn't a good day to be a dick.

Up until now I have always maintained that toothache was the worst pain in the world, I now know better!

That's the really annoying part as I hadn't been down the gym, hadn't par taken in any kinky athletics. Speaking to the specialist it's down to physiology sometimes, some people are more susceptible than others and a movement you've done thousands of times can sometimes be just enough to put a twist in that won't untwist itself :-(

Ooochh ya bugger, how many read that and felt the need to bring their knees up just a little ??
Feeling your pain brother, luckily mine didn't require surgery. When I went back to doctors for check up, my doc was on holiday, the locum covering was more embarrassed than me ,,,,,, bless her !
Get well soon buddy.

Having been doubled up by only a partial twist that almost immediately relieved itself, but leaving behind stabbing agony until much later that night, I can only imagine what a full blown torsion is like!

I have also had problems with my left one, and can agree, the pain is just not a pain, but a zllion times worse

for those that have not had this problem, imagine being kicked in the knackers by Mike Tyson with toe capped boots, then
multiply by 10 the pain

I have found that having a hot bath helped and gentle massaging of the bits, made life a lot better

I had "an attack of this" years ago, while shopping with my wife and inlaws in Alders in Croyden
and as the only driver I had to drive home, and was in so much pain, I could not actually talk, I doubt my driving was much good either!!

I really feel your pain, but have you ever stood on an up-turned plug?

Nah, standing on a lego brick is the ultimate pain... especially in bare feet!! (I can see most parents knowing that one!!)

Had this happen to me as a 16 year old lad. I was in tears with the pain, luckily they were able to manipulate it back round. Funny enough it was the left one too. My mates (so called) found it hilarious the barsterds.

I had it when I was in my late teens but I was too embarressed to tell anyone. I just curled up in a ball and wimpered until I passed-out. I woke-up with swollen comedy plums but no ill-effects until several years later when I got it again. By this time, I was living with a nursey who fixed me... ;-)
Thankfully, the human brain has no facility to remember actual pain. It remembers it hurting and can recognise it if it happens again but it can't actually recall it.....

second that !

I seem to get partial twist's in the left one about every other month
I should probably get it looked at - but there is no way I'm letting anyone near them with a knife !

I've had mine checked (I found a lump that thankfully turned out to be nothing to worry about) and they said they wouldn't proactively do anything.

That sounds horrible, glad your on the mend.

My back let go once while I was getting out of bed in the morning, I collapsed into heap on the floor, and physically cried. If someone would have offered me £10M to get myself back on to the bed I would not have been able to do it!. Ended up with the doc coming over, and giving me a shot of valium to get me back in bed, which is where I stayed for a week!.

had something similar lifting our youngest onto the change table. luckily not as bad as your as i was eventually able to crawl about. had to shout the wife to grab the kiddy though! immediately dropped to the floor with pain so sudden and intense it scared me!

now trying to keep on top of it and strengthen the area with exercise etc.

Always told my lad, you don't cry, no matter how hard you get hit. This was taken quite a few years ago, semi final British Open and he was way ahead, then got dropped with a kick to the bollox. He couldn't continue (he was wearing a box too).

This is him 1/2 hour later coming from the medical tent with his iced up plums.

A few tears were shed, but as we all know, the plums are the exception area, he was let off

Never urinate on or near a 3 phase electric fence.
