Look at dvandrews.co.uk site you will find instructions there plus lots of other useful stuff.
Phoned the local ramblers club today, but the bloke who answered just

I don't know why they make it so complicated - just chop a bit off the top.

Mine isn't that complicated - but it does require a bit of machining (or clever use of tubing instead).

But you get more effect by moving the pivot up instead
I splashed out and got a quaife lever (basically the same as the one they make for Caterham only metric)
Its very nicely made with a spherical bearing that can be mounted at 2 different heights to adjust how quick it is, but not exactly locost....
