Its a bit flash for a donor vehicle isnt it?

Thats a smart vehicle. Ive had a succession of beemers and all were great. The last one was an E36 M3 EVO - best car ive ever driven by far.

you'll need to take the 318is badge off the back then

oh, and hope you don't get stopped too often for looking like a drug dealer (don't tint the windows!)

Ned.

You should see what some of the Japanese students are driving round here... Mercs, BMW 5 series, Honda Preludes, Nissan 300s, Supras...all a bit silly...then i saw one driving a Nissan 350Z...

I guess I have issues when over half our engineering course is foreign students. Made worse by the fact that one of my mates didnt get a place here because there were no places left...when they give away places to foreign students because they pay full tuition fees. I think the places should go to british students first...Im not rascist or anything, I just think its unfair.

Sorry was a bit of a hijack there...

David

They have a lovely sounding V6!

My dad had two V6 Ghia Xs, which are the same as the ST24 apart from the interior.

But then you wouldn't have a University to go to at all. Unfortunately it's a fact of life, overseas students prop up the University system. I work in one, have done for 11 years, trust me! our place is having to save 4 million quid a year and we're not alone.

sorry, back on topic.

i work at a university too, and while i completely agree with you our undergrad courses struggle to break even, most run at a loss. It is the postgrad and overseas students taht pay £10k to be here that keeps the place going..

Note the 'had'. They were before the Volvo (estates). And yes, there is the Subaru Impreza.

+ I said they SOUNDED great, not that they were great cars. Everything else was a bit bland.

And that, my friend is the problem. Universities are not supposed to make money, or break even. Universities, and all other education establishments for that matter, are supposed to train people and dispense eduaction. The gain comes later when the people trained go back and enrich the society (assuming they don't spend their time on Locost forums).
Once you allow accountants (or even worse, lawyers),especially politicians to run universities, you will be staring doom in the face.
Foreign students are as much a victim of this system as you are.

I had an E30 M3 - worst and most unreliable car I've ever owned. Never have another.

Nice car, but aren't you afraid of looking a right tw4t in it, being only twenty?
Your old man should have given you a Mk I Escort, then when you pranged that, you could build a locost with it and the 250 quid that you saved from doing paper rounds and mowing the lawn for your old man.

Cheers, Rorty.
