W**tfield Single Donor
Had a phone call last night from a mate telling me that W**tfield have got a single vehicle donor kit like MK's Indy; the WestSport SDV
http://www.westfield-sportscars.co.uk/singleD.htm
OK, it's more expensive, but it would suggest that MK's (et al) incursion into the market is hurting business.
Gentlemen, your views please.
Neil.

Yes, I'm sure that's the reason.
They are hoping IMO that the name will justify the extra cost (is it double the Indy?)
But, is it worth it?

We shall soon see. Which Kit magazine (I think) are going to do a back to back build of a Westie westsport and an Indy to see just what is involved
and what the saving will be (if any). They will both be built down to a price but to the same basic spec i.e. Pinto etc... To this end Martin is
currently looking at supplying a much more comprehensive Kit to those that want it. This from the horses mouth so to speak as I now have his ear on a
permanent basis as of Monday.

Does this mean you now work for MK?

The heart of this particular matter is whether like is being compared to like. This cropped up a while back when the Westfeild XTR was being compared
with the MK GT1, rather unfairly, due to the fact that the XTR was a complete kit minus engine (and wheels, I think), and the GT1 was a chassis, body
and wishbones. Yes, the Westfeild is more expensive but by nowhere near what was being suggested

Mr Johnston
Yes in a manner of speaking, PTM will be based in Unit 7 on the same ind est and I will also be taking on MK's full builds, both Indy's and GT1's
as well as the usual 'Plastic' products.
John
I know I may be rather biased but at around £12-13000 for a GT1 fully built (prices yet to be fixed) this is around half of what Westie's want for an
XTR2. You pays yer money etc... Each to his own.

Hi Matthew
I will be there sat but officially I start work on monday.
You are the first bona fide customer, others have bought demo cars before but I think yours is the first official 'Built by MK' car, yes.
As for your ever changing requirements, I'll contact you early next week.
Cheers

If owned a Westfield I'd be spitting Blood!
A cheaper version is going to knock the values of the regular sort.
Still, who cares?
Cheers

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

car values
Will that make them cheaper than £250 then? I might buy a couple, one for each foot probably, to use as rollerskates.
yours, Pete.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

there are westie and caterham buyers that wouldnt even dream of building one. They see em in what car etc in the normal road car listings and get one
as a toy / weekend car. I work at a company where a husband of a co worker has done just that. when i said i was buildign an equivalent car, the
response i got was along the lines of id never go in something that was built at home!
MK having their product compared in a kit mag against a long standing mfr product is brave. the press (perhaps not the kit car press) can be
opinionated and not always be good publicity.
hope it goes well.
