Incomplete Torrents
I've been downloading a movie from a BitTorrent site and it has stopped at 97.9% with no seeds (been like this for days now)
Is there any way to fill in the remaining 2.1% with blank data so that I can burn it to a DVD and put up with the gaps?
Cheers,
Raz

Unfortunately no :-(
The problem is every piece is hash # encoded - and CRC'd.
Have you tried searching other torrent sites for the same version? It might have been re-seeded elsewhere:
www.torrentspy.com
www.thepiratebay.com
etc...

Torrent incomplete.
You may be able to play the movie depending on what file type it is.
If it was compressed by winzip or winrar then no. If it was a AVI then you can however open it in VLC and play it on your PC.
VLC by videolan is a free player and very good at playing partial downloads.
To fix it you may be able to use something like VirtualDub or similar.
Hope this helps.

Had similar problems with downloading large ISO files a few years back --- turned out to be MTU related, reduced the MTU and it sort of went away. I
am pretty sure part of the problem was an my ISP (BT-Yajoke).
Since then have switched to a decent ISP and never had to twiddle the MTU setting ever again.

It is an avi file but it won't play in Media Player or Nero. It isn't seeded anywere else as far as I can tell and there are over 9000
other people (leechers?) in the same boat. I'll give VLC a try - thanks chasmon

In my particular case it turned out to be a spoof file - why anyone chooses to mislead people in this way is beyond me
I'm not sure what the MTU settings are but they are probably default.
I have found that I get the best download speeds at night (probably when the US wakes up) so I just get everything queued in Azureus and go to bed -
everything has normally finished downloading by the next morning, except for 4Gb film files which can take a few days.
Cheers,
Raz
