Driving Standards Agency Announcement
The following announcement has been made today by the Driving
Standards Agency (DSA). Recipients are requested to pass on the main
points to all their stakeholders in improving standards of driving / riding.
Following some initial trials it has been decided to extend the
concept of voluntary self assessment of driving thoughout England.
This phase will take place during May and June 2006.
Not everybody can drive / ride to the same high standards as
achieved during their test, so all road users are being asked to
self assess their current road skills. If you feel that you do not
reach these same high standards as on your diving test then you are
asked to display an appropriate Prominent Warning Sign* (PWS) (see
notes below) You may display more than one PWS if you feel that
your driving warrants this.
If you see another vehicle displaying one or more of these signs you
can be sure that it is being driven badly. Please change your
driving plan accordingly.
The Minister of Road Safety, the Right Hon. Stephen Ladyman MP, is
reported as saying that this is a major contribution to road
safety. He is well pleased with the enthusiastic take up of the
idea by motorists already.
Note 1. After a wide consultation it has been agreed the
appropriate PWS in England will be a white rectangle divided into
quarters by two broad red lines.
In Scotland the PWS will be a blue rectangle divided by 2 diagonal
white stripes.
The Welsh PWS is being finalised.
Please stand by
for further announcements.

That is funny but makes sense. Although if people see that someone is of a less quality of driver then others mate carve them up etc just to wind the
up.. Which happens to people that display the green "P".
Im am of the opinion that a driving test should be made compulsary every so often. eg 10 years or so. AND there should be a minimum speed limit.
Im not saying im the best driver in the world but there are so many BAD drivers about i think a test every so often would knock them in shape.
