Cosworth MAE Head
Any 60's saloon racing experts here?!
I'm doing my final year project on the MAE head, water bench testing, modelling, etc., at the moment trying to find out as much info as
possible.
If anyone knows anything about the head, or even has any pictures, that would be very useful!
Cheers,
Stu

Modified Anglia (105e) Engine aka Cosworth Screamer.
Seen claims for 130 BHP/litre from 997 cc for these heads. After they were finished in F3 they trickled down to Special Saloons 851 to 1000 cc class.
On unrestricted induction they were the only units that could out gun the 998 Imps, were found in all sorts of racers Anglias of course, Morris
Minors, A40s, Minis and even the back of John Fydas famous but fragile Agra Imp.
Trouble is the old 3 bearing Anglia unit just wasn't meant for the kind of RPM they were pulling even with a cosworth n all steel bottom end so
they blew up quite often --- a blow up at 10,000 RPM dosen't leave much apart from the head and if your very lucky the camshaft .

Have you tried calling or emailing cosworth?
They have a query form on their website.
