I have to ask the same question.
Surely the swept area has to be inside the 'bite marks' so you might as well have a smaller (and lighter) disc to start with ...........
or am I missing something?

Rorty who uses them made some interesting points about them a while back...
IIRC the 'bumps' will sweep away any debris/swarf/pad dust that would otherwise get trapped in there and (presumably) cause scoring
etc.
Sorry if I've got that wrong Rorty!

James

quite a few top end sports bikes are using 'wavy' discs. I think it has something to do with heat dissipation. Plus they look quite good
on a bike!
Don't know why you'd bother on a car where you can't see them.

NICE!!!
I might be interested depending on the price.
Not until I am back from LeMans though as funds are currently diverted.

Wavy disks on bikes are stainless steel and about 2mm thick and run sintered pads. Are these standard disks drilled and cut? Have you run any for any
length of time to test their longevity and efficiency, the hole near the bell looks redundant as it is outside the pad area.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
