Wahoo, I'm free, freeee!

Well last exam has just finished! Now I have a week and a bit until I start work, and 3 and a bit weeks until I collect my kit...I just know times going to drag...!

I am working as a project engineer again this summer from June through to the end of september. I need the money to do my car, however a full time job wont leave me with an awful lot of time to spend on it....

Roll on Monday (5th) and the South Brum meet

Last one could possibly be the best one I have done. Will have to wait for results to find out though!

I am working for these people in the summer, as I usually do:

I'm looking forward to Mondays meeting too.

Cooper bearings, eh? Fitted a few of them in my time, you'll not need any of them on a locost.

Bit heavy weight and over specced for a locost

What do you do that would bring you in contact with CRB? Always suprises me how many people have had some contact with them over the years, considering they are a relatively small company....

You got another year after this David?

Finished my exams a couple of weeks ago and have been getting the car ready for SVA and LeMans! Its nice being able to work on it without the thought of uni work always in your mind!

Yes one more year to go. This was my third of 4.

A load of my mates have been out getting royally plastered this afternoon, just got a text saying one of my housemates is wasted and might need babysitting when he gets home...Me...I have no money, its all been spent on the car, but at least i have something to show for mine rather than a bad hangover . My end of exam celebration will be on monday.

How were your exams? You seem to have finished very early! I thought mine were early!

Yeah the exams went ok, Brookes only changed to semesters last year so they timings are all messed up, I would rather have term finish a bit later as uni is always good fun in the summer. Don't back until the end of September! over 4 months off! Makes us look like slackers!

Going away for a month, then will be working pretty much full time, nothing engineering though. Just easy bar work.

Do you have all the bits ready for your car then? You must have been waiting ages for monday to arrive!!

I have until the end of september off too. Working right through until a week before i am due back. Desperately need the money for the car...

I have got pretty much everything ready for the car yes. Picking up a gearbox and diff/hubbs when i get back on the 10th. Gives me a couple of weeks to get them refurbed before i pick the rest of the kit up on the 24th. Should be rolling by the end of july hopefully. And under its own power by the middle of august with any luck! Optimistic...me...not often

Used them on loads of big belt conveyors and other large plant. Comes from contracting in steel works and quarries. There were two so called mechanical fitters at one shutdown at the redcar sinter plant trying to get one off, they asked if I had a chisel they could borrow so they could force open the "crack" in the inner race to replace it. I lent them a 3mm allen key instead, along with a brief lesson.

Sounds about right that one. We have no end of bearings come back with damage caused by incorrect fitting or removal. Pleased someone knows what they are doing
