Where To Get Trailer Suspension Units????
im building a teardrop caravan for my locost, and i wonder if anyone knows a good place to buy suspension units, a lot like
these
here, but im sure they could be found cheaper, as they must be fairly simple things? Im trying to do it in the locost fashion, but i dont want
to make them myself (dont know if i could?), so i want them as cheap as possible. anyone know of where to find them??? cheers

I wouldn't even consider towing anything like a teardrop with a Locost unless it was braked, you will be jack-knifed first time you use the
brakes a bit suddenly as there is no weight at the back of the car to hold it down. Northern tools do a
250kg unit but I would consider braked ones for safety's sake. The maximum
towing weight for unbraked trailers is 50% of the kerbside weight of the towing vehicle read here .
If you can't prove it was designed to tow a trailer you could invalidate your insurance.

yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

There is some information and prices for trailer bits here:
http://www.davebence.co.uk/onyx_firefox/index.htm
At this point the thread will no doubt degenerate into slagging off the styling of the Onyx, but hey ho.

i made a seperate post on the abilitity to tow, i am making the whole of the shell out of carbon fibre, and am planning to make it under
100kg's, so towing it shouldnt be as great a problem as it seems.
