Internet problems....Is it me?

Anyone being having problems with Firefox today? A good number of my bookmarked pages (including online banking) are comming up as server can't find etc. Some links from Google work, others give the same error message. This site (and links from it) works fine but links from other sites are also causing problems.

Same thing is happening if I log on with IE.
Please let it NOT be me

If the same thins are happening using IE then it it not likely to be a problem with firefox.

In my experience it is often a problem with DNS (name resolution) at ISP level.

So not just you - probably a lot of other people too!

It might be an idea to clear out your internet cache [tools, internet options, delete temp files] This will refresh all the links.

Sounds like a DNS server problem -- dns servers pass address info between each other to keep the servers updated, sometimes the update gets corrupted and whole blocks of the web get lost until the servers next update.

One way round it is to have a dns server from another isp listed in your network settings another is to run a mini DNS server on your own machine or another PC on your network -- something I was foreced tp resort to when I was with BT because BTs' DNS servers were always unreliable.
