that really doesnt look right unless they are different classes as he easily drives past 4 cars on a short straight which shouldnt happen with
identical cars

that bit where he flies past a few, i think he just got a better run onto the straight, and held it flat out when they touched the brakes.

Having been to Oz twice, missed the bathurst 1000 TWICE!! and driven the circuit twice as a civillian (which you can do on a non-race day, it's
a public road) I can assure you it's every bit as awesome as the footage looks. You cannot appreciate though from the coverage on these clips
just how steep the run up the mountain is, especially through The Cutting. When you get to the top, the control tower is a dot in the valley below,
going through The Dipper feels like driving over a cliff and when you round Forest Elbow and see the whole of Conrod Straight ahead of you, all you
want to do is floor it!
I am continually amazed that the safety police haven't shut the place down before now as there are few runoffs, lots of concrete walls and quite
a few trees.

Went to the Bathurst 1000 in 2000 and it was truly unbelievable. Met a bloke that owned a house on the circuit and watched the entire race from his
front garden, less than 5 metres away from the track!!
I taught in a school over there and the kids ran upto me the next day asking if was at the 1000 as they'd all seen me having a chat to one of
the guys in the Wynns team who crashed right in front of us. Right in front as in headlight plastic and spoiler in my face!
Race safety? She'll be 'right...
Awesome track and very easy to see how someone could dominate on it too if they really knew it. Balls like melons!
