aerobatic flights?
Has anyone ever been on an aerobatic flight experience or can recommend one??
I am looking to book a flight experience for my wife for her birthday in september.
I want to book a proper one, not just a cessna doing a few loops, so i have been scouting around on the web. there are loads to choose from but the
best ones use the extra 300 plane and cost around £250.00+
I want to book her something special and she is used to high adrenaline activites such as, skydiving, bungee jumping, jet skiing etc.

try sticking a post on pprune.com might be co.uk, thats a big pilot forum....i dont know anyone at leeds/north that can help.
if you can avoid if dont buy one of these adventure/air experience things off the shelf of boots....very over priced....better buying direct.

Days of non military personnel getting seats in any RAF aircraft let alone a fast jet are all but gone now Im afraid. Those who do are generally won
through charity auctions, the chances of "pulling strings" are almost non existent.
Find a local flying club who also teach aeros and ask them if they would fly them as part of a trial lesson/experience flight. You will have to pay
more for the priviledge though as fully aerobatic aircraft [an Extra 300 is one such exanple] are a lot more expensive to operate.
If you find a club with a Cessna 150/152 Aerobat they are capable of much more than "a few loops" and despite having a fixed pitch
propeller, if flown well are easily capable of a full sequence to make the hardest of adrenaline junkies vomit.
The key though is finding a certifed aeros instructor who can demostrate proper aerobatics rather than just individual manoeuvres.

Try doing it in a glider ............ after having a go at flying it yourself.
Fab experience. hated trying to fly it, the wind kept hitting us and take me where it wanted to go.
When we did the acrobatics, went up at about 45 - 60 degrees. Levelled off, stalled into a tripple loop the loop, pulled out of that to bank at 90
degrees then did a bombing run on a corn field - the speedo got very close to the "do not exceed 105 knotts".
Oh, yeah when we landed he got told off, he was a good 10 feet above the corn....... should have been closer 
Then just cleared the trees....... banked and landed........ adrenalin was pumping.
If you do want to go in a jet, u2u me. I'll have to do some digging but there is a club that runs an ex soviet jet. They are not allowed by Gov.
to charge for flights, but, if you join the club, they hold a lottery and take a number of people up in it. So far, by chance, it seems everyone who
joins has been drawn out of the hat. Amazing coincidence

Hi thanks for all the advice. My brother in law did some work for the RAF and british aerospace and managed to blag a ride in a jet from London to
wales and back again. He said it was amazing but i suspect with the looming threat of global terrorism and the health and safety brigade those days
are now gone.
She has done the glider experience and thoroughly enjoyed it but i wanted to get something different. the ride in the jet sounds great. U2U sent.

There are several groups around the country operating ex-RAF Jet Provosts - certainly North Weald, used to be Norwich and I'm pretty sure that
there is at least one operating near Bruntingthorpe. Fully Aerobatic and quite fast. Unlike something like an Extra, which is quite a violent ride,
they offer sustained, if lower 'G' levels, and probably better for the non-aviator! (I know, I flew them 15 years ago!!!)

i saw a guy flying over my neighbourhood a few days ago doing the most crazy stuff i have ever seen, especially over a residential area, i just stood
there gobsmacked waiting for him to crash. Stalling, looping very close to the ground, flying upside down etc. One mad Mother F£$%er

Wifey got me a proper flight in a Stomp out of Rochester. That was quite good fun!
When I was microlighting in France in '99, we had a chap come to use the field in a YAK 52 to prcatice his aerobatic routine for a show. We
managed to blag a ride in that while his practiced Superb fun.
