FYI - Dax Rush - Stolen Wales
FYI I am a memer of DROC (dont ask) one of the members has had there Dax Nicked any info Post or U2U and I will forward.
Hi All
could I just make everyone aware that one of our members, Andy Harrick, had his car stolen last night whilst on a trip with the Scottish Kit Car Club
in Wales - I am told by George Cowie.
Please keep eyes and ears open for any hints as to where this may go.
Andy's car is described thus by George:-
It is a bright yellow Dax Rush reg H14DAX.
The car has a 2.0 Litre Zetec.
It has 17" Cosy wheels with Toyo tyres and has the Dax 4 into 1 exhaust on the near side.
Distinguishing is the fact that the air filter is upside down.
I've got a picture or two of it somewhere which I will post later on.
If anyone does hear anything contact Andy direct, or myself if he's not available.
Cheers

Theiving Scum....
Why can't people work to get what they want like most of us do. Our soft laws need rethinking.
I hope it turns up without too much damage. He must be gutted.
Summer's here!!!!

Weird, cos you'd have to know the industry/market quite well to sell the parts wouldn't you?
There's a lot of parts that are only of use to kit car builders and a lot of them are only of use on another Dax.
Anyway, hope he gets it back unscathed.... I'll be a little more careful with mine now!
Cheers,
James

where Andy higgins was staying and it was stripped to the bone and the chassis had been cut through!

I feel really sorry for the owner, I hope the insurance co pay out quickly and fully.
A lesson to all of us to check the following:-
The car is fully insured to a sensible value. It's no use having saved £50 on your premium if they only pay out half what it cost you to build
/ replace.
Your anti-theft measures are not just for SVA but are for life!
This theft has prompted me to get out in the yard and start fitting the immobiliser I bought in April. (That and the fact that it's been
rainning here for nearly two weeks solid).
I'm paranoid about leaving mine anywhere normal (Tesco's, town, Halfords etc) but perfectly happy to leave it at shows, pubs etc when out
on a blat. Hopefully having a decent alarm on it will give me some re-assurance.
Cheers
Mike

The thing is, it's far too easy to reregister the thing in your own name.
New chassis number, new coat of paint, new SVA, and it's all yours. Far easier than a standard mass production car.
Before SVA it was far simpler even moreso.
Cheers,
Syd.

I think a sensible option is to permastamp your chassis number all over the chassis before the powder coating goes on.
Anyone have a tracker system on their pride and joy?
The miserable gits must have known what they were after and were prepared for it.
My commisserations to the unlucky guy indeed.
