Which just goes to show how worthless the A level is. I had too much work on to do any more than 3 and an A/S, the subjects were harder.
Why is it with the constant raise in pass grades the kids I see at work seem to be struggling with the more basic things. They got good grades though

Was thinking about taking the maths again to see if I could improve my grade
DT, English x 2, Science double award, Geography, Greek and Latin next year!
I didnt find the iGCSE too difficult compared to the practice papers!

Especially that double science bit! Any proper smart person would do the seperate gcse's!

why greek and latin adam, seems an odd choice? Certainly not the easy ones! I only did the one english but most of the sciences, topped of with odd
ones like law, accounts and art.

Law and accounts are just odd ones to make the numbers up?! Quite glad I bumed through mine and only got 10 gcse's! Although my geography
teacher refused to let me do an 11th. As he couldn't be ar$ed to teach me out of hours. He was too busy in the pub!

Wanted to but the school won't do it for some reason
I chose Greek and Latin because I enjoy them, i'm quite interested in the history, its good for my brain and it makes me sound intelligent to
universities apparantly!
I'm doing the most full GCSEs I can do at my school (10). I could have done a short course History or RS but decided against it as I would
rather put the extra work into my maths and sciences as they are what I enjoy and what are needed for what I want to do in the future.

I'm quite gald I got the chance to do seperate sciences as it helped a lot with hetting onto engineering curses. Loughborough and Imperial gave
me a place over the phone once I told them my results for gcse and A level!

Likewise i got stuck with double science, it's an inaccurate reflection of your abilities, one for each discipline would be much fairer and more
meaningful imho.

Makes a change to hear a young'un wanting to do maths & science - not many of you around these days...
...and the languages.
I worked with a German bloke who spoke around 5 or 6 languages - he reckoned that Latin was really useful for learning European languages.

I think that learning Latin from yr 4 has really helped my french. I have always tended to struggle with my modern languages but as I started to learn
latin as a language properly (yr 6) my french started to improve massively. Without latin I don't think I would have got a B.
I got my certificate today and I was only a couple of marks off an A.

Only got A-B in english. Was my worst result as it happens. Oh, and I'm just too lazy to spell check most days.

LOL
Good to see Latin is still taught, I was fairly fluent when I was 14. Dropped it as an o'level though.

It's still taught at my old school, but there wasn't enough interest to do it at gcse when I was at that stage. It was quite interesting,
and as said, it helps no end with other european languages since they are at least partly based on latin.
