Airfix RIP!!
Got a bit fed up with the full size so finished off a model I've had for a bit.
Shame about Airfix but they never matched the quality of Tamiya.
Why the hell we can't do it here escapes and depresses me.

(going to try an phrase this carefully to protect the innocent / guilty)
Knew a bloke who's company bid for a contract from a high end car company who make sporty cars. They wanted the flywheels balanced to within an
inch of its life. They provided a quote and explained that it was pointless, as at that level you'd need to also balance the clutch assembly on
the fly as well. The company told them they'd won the contract and to do what they'd bid.
They did what they where paid to do and shook their heads.
Forget engineering, its only marketing!
Now if anyone can figure out the company, well done but i aint confirming it or giving out blue smarties.

Looks good mate. I still havent finished my little 7 on i got ages ago.
U should make a little bit of road for it to sit on!!
Airfix RIP but as you say. Tamiya are much better quality. The last few air fix ones iv done (and i havent done any for years) the quality was crap.

Yep quality of Airfix is/was crap as I guess they just didn't invest in new moulds and technology.
Typical story of keep pushing out the same old crap and eventually the public votes with their feet.
Can't see why UK can't make it work if the Japs can. It can't be that we don't have the technology or skills.
I used to be apathetic but now I just don't care.

More like the fact that all the injecting/moulding is done in France!
Latest I've heard is Hornby may be interested, which will put the french out of work and give it to the chinese!
In which case, whole point of saving company will be lost.
