Advice on Nearly New car buying....

Having a look for a new boring run around. Found one I really like and have test driven it and its on budget. Its a new style Feb '04 Golf 1.6 FSI SE 5dr (mouthfull!). I really like it but need some advice. I've found the exact same car - few less miles on the Arnold Clark website for almost a grand less - I also found an '05 one SE 5dr (doesn't say FSI so not sure if that means no 6spd box???) which is also cheaper, by about £800! and half the mileage! Not sure what to do - I'm in Aberdeen the cars I'm interested in are in Glasgow - don't one to travel but don't want to be ripped off. I'm looking at one from the VW garage bought on finance (as usual!). The two '04 ones are both the same metallic red and the '05 is black so no weird colours to bother about.....do you reckon if I print them off and take them to the dealer in Aberdeen they might budge on prices??? Cheers Oli.

I agree! let me try and explain a bit more as I just re-read my post and its a bit confusing.....there are 2/3 cars in question:
- original Golf (aberdeen) 1.6 FSI SE 5dr (Met Red) £10,990
- Arnold Clark Glasgow exactly the same car 5K less miles, same age same colour etc etc £9,688 (before trying to haggle or anything)
- Just to confuse things theres a Black Golf 1.6 SE (doesn't say FSI???) in Glasgow with arnold clarke, 2005 as opposed to '04 and 11K miles at £10,113
Its just bizarre that I can save over £1,000 just by buying in Glasgow which is where my girl's family live so not a huge deal!
I just want to arm myself so that I can go in on Wednesday with a deposit but get the Aberdeen car for the same money. They seem quite nice (knew the salesman) so their knocking £550 off the price in Aberdeen cause theres no trade-in. Haven't really started haggling with them yet though. What should I take with me though and what should I say to get a good deal??? Cheers Oli.

I had to do the same recently, and we chopped in both of our cars for a Volvo S60 D5 - an excellent buy and for a very reasonable price as well!
