I like the idea of a small jet with a towing arm on the back

LOL,

Got a mental image of a large, shaven headed bloke in bomber jacket walking up to plane with a ladder, climbs up, smashes window, puts his arm in and opens the door.

Hot wires it and fusks off.

Nice

Does he get to keep the drinks cabinets, or the trolley dolleys?

crikey, interesting job!

Is there much business in that line of work?

I assume there is worldwide, I guess there aren't many global aircraft bailifs!!!!

Considering how agressive people get about having their £200 taken I'd imagine you'd want some serious heavies when it's a £20M jet.

Cool job for impressing the ladies at parties though

Yes aircraft-repo is quite a big thing, mostly in third world countries. however I fail to understand how he can reposes 'any' jet? Unfortunately you don't just walk onto a jet and fire up the engines.

One needs to go through a 'type-rating' course to learn the different systems of the particular model. It is also ILLEGAL to fly such an aircraft without the required Type-rating, in most cases you can only have 2 active type ratings.

A 'GOOD' pilot could get away with reposessing various makes of light aircraft, but Jets are something else. Best case scenario would see you killing yourself only (and the unfortunate soul sitting on the right controls), through lack of proficiency on the particular model.

Not sure i'd ever fancy my m8's dads job,

Aparently he flys planes that are to be de-comissioned after they've failed the aero equivalent of the MOT!

Surely a plane that has not had its repayments, is likely to have had a cheap service (if it wasnt forged?).
Sounds like if the pilot doesnt cause a crash the planes will!

Thinking, surely he would be just a freelance pilot (with the right connections) as no company would employ someone full time to do that.
