They made the same noises around XP when coming up for launch. "Caved in" then, too...

How do you get loads of publicity about a new Windows launch? Announce crap licensing terms and let the media slate it for it, backing down at the last minute and getting even more column inches.

Don't use microsoft....never liked it when I did - always breaks and the tech help ppl always treat you like an idiot....got apples in the house now and its much better....never meet an apple tech person as I've never needed it! Oli.

Oh its actually cheaper too....

And its still limited to 2 processors. Given the rumblings from AMD and Intel, I would expect 4-processor systems (and more) to be the norm for any new hardware from the middle of 2007 onwards. Nice to see MS keeping up with the times
