It will most likely be the bank acting the maggot!
A friend of mine was owed £90K by a client who couldn't or wouldn't pay.
He went to his bank and explained that he would need time to clear his overdraft, but that he had a full order book and it wouldn't be a problem if they gave him a liitle more time.
NatWest's amswer was to bring the receiver in.
However in order to try to clear his debt he sold all his assets to his father's business. Then his wife bought them back.
NatWest got 10p in the pound, the receiver was satisfied and my mate never lost a day's trading. Just a smooth transition over to his wife's new company.
