Online Racing
Someone posted about Live For Speed ,I downloaded the demo ,then found a copy of the full game.
It's really easy to join games online , it's great racing other people from all over the world.
We could form our own racing group and make it (private) to LCB members.
Are there any other good online racing games?

Sounds like fun,
However i prefer GT Legends, with 60's and 70's cars, but play them both

What is the recommended PC spec for this, or what does it need to make it run properly?

my compo is only an Athlon 750 with 384mb ram ,32mb graphics card , and it run fine if one car on screen , gets jumpy with 9 cars on screen.
not clear if thats down to the compo or the internet connection speed.
I'll probably upgrade sooner now 'cos I really like the online racing.

You really need a steering wheel for lfs.
I actually take part in a uk based league racing GTR's - the 911 racing car.. www.conedodgers.co.uk
Great fun, good for practising your lines etc..
There is two 7 based cars in the game... But the main limitation is no real tracks, it would be great to get Knockhill in the game...

my s /wheel is rubbish needs a new potentiometer.
so I use keuboard for throttle /brakes and a wingman joystick for steering.
also reduced the amount of maximum steering lock on the car to 18 degrees to make it all less sensitive /fishtaily.
but the 7 type car is still a pig to drive ,wants to spin all the time.

Ive had a dabble with GTR which is fantastic, although imho you really need a force feed back wheel to get the best out of it

I used to use a joystick with throttle brake set to forward and back (respectively), takes a bit of practice but the gives much more control over
things, i.e. you dont get full throttle as soon as you press a key, or full brakes
Also made my own steering wheel and brake setup, but thats another story
Cheers

You are asking now been 10years since I did it
I think they were 100K, but I could be entirely wrong with that, or was it 100k on the wheel and 2 47k on the pedals, sorry too long ago now,
I'll see if I can find the specs for them again if you need them?
I do remember it being a pain to find out what to use at the time, although that probably doesn't help much now
It worked surprisingly well though, and was a doddle to build
Cheers

As expected, I'm doing horribly on my laptop.
In FWD cars I always end up going head-first into walls, and with the RWD vehicles I seem to be doing donuts most of the time..
Wish I had a steering wheel and some pedals!

So who wants to play LFS then? Is someone willing to set up a host? Should we set a date and time to do a race?
I have the demo version still, so suggest to use one of the three demo cars as a start...
I am up for a race, but let's do it!
