Renault Laguna
Anyone know how to tell what BHP a 2001 1.9 Dci laguna is, there seems to be a few different figures, 100, 110, 120 quoted but i don't know how
to check what they are when i'm looking at them. Been told if it is 6 speed they are 120 but not sure if this is correct.
thanks for any help

Not sure which model or BHP but it could all go up in smoke!
I've seen atleast 3 and heard of more where (I think its the Turbo Seals have gone)
And the engine runs away with itself, even if you turn it off it carries on running sucking oil from the sump untill its burnt it all off!
Maybe there just company car drivers that carry on regardless when really they should know somethings wrong and get it fixed!
I've seen the one of the blown turbos and the shaft inside was floating round all over the place.
Might be worth doing more research before you buy!

Mmm seem to of read this sort of thing, but to be honest i'm after a diesel mondeo, laguna, vectra anything really and seem to hear horror
stories about all of them, as you say i think mainly because there rep mobiles, but i've eventually found a 1 private owner laguna with history
and 61,000 miles and a very very tidy body so was starting to swing the laguna way, but as usual you never know what your buying in the second hand
car market and it always feels a bit of a gamble to me. But thanks for the info it all counts

wouldnt bother with a laguna ,chocolate gearbox worse electrica than the italians and full of "control modules " which all cost silly
money as well as the card key which is well known in the trade for playing up and renault charge £130 to replace and code up ,i do some class
seven tests for the local renault dealer and apart from the dci clio the rest of the range are as toss as they ever were for reliability

I agree with froggy, keep away from the lagunas. I work next to a renault dealers and theyr always having them towed in. The aa have there vehicles
done in my workshop and the blokes that run them reckon theyr always pulling them in. The vectra's give alot of trouble too. The mondeo is
your best bet, unless u look at VW, audi and skoda. The diesels in them are superb especially the newer ones.
