Suggestions for trip down to Southern Spain
A mate and I are planning a trip down to his parents place in southern spain next summer sometime.
Been looking at a rough route for the way down, with max 400 miles a day driving.
My parents have a place just north of Barcelona so that will be one of the stops.
So far the stops are;
Dijon (Went there this summer, nice town for a one night stop, also want to go back to a restaurant where I had maybe the best meal ever!)
L'Estartit (Parents place north of Barcelona, stop for 4 nights prob)
Valencia (Was halfway to Marbella on the map!, never been, is it nice? Need to consider other options really)
Marbella (Stay here for a week most likely)
For the journey back we could go the same route but stop different places. Or the other option was go into Portugal, do a night in Lisbon, then up the
west cost to La Coruna for a night, then get the ferry back to Portsmouth from Bilbao.
Ive heard the north coast of spain is nice and only having been to the east coast wouldnt mind exploring it.
Now i need some suggestions of what to see on the way. Obviously L'Estartit and Marbella are definate stops but the others are replaceable.
Oh yeah, we plan to do this in the Indy, so dont want to do loads of miles a day.

How about Southampton (or is it Plymouth) to Santander in northern Spain.
It makes it easier. and less driving.
also means you miss out on the Pyrinees (??sp??) passes
Just a thought.
Depends on how much driving you want to do, and how long you have.
Also No LPG in Spain, but plenty in France.
Just my 2d Worth.
1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
Best Regards
