No but it will affect alot of people trying to get to do a decent days work.
This country is getting beyond a joke.
I'm seriously considering emigrating.
I used to be apathetic but now I just don't care.

Oh great. I spend half of my life on the road having to deal with trucks not overtaking each other, so all I need now is a load of Transits doing the
same......
We're contemplating emigrating to New Zealand, and at this rate it may happen sooner rather than later!

Yup! This will affect us all as we will now have 56mph traffic queues on all motorways as they crawl past one another at 1/2mph increments - this
government is a joke - please vote them out next time - I would defy even George Bush to do a worse job overall
Do they have speed cameras in NZ?

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

cue loads of new sprinters with foreign plates on them, i share a yard with a courier firm but i doubt this will start to affect most firms for the
next 18months or so as the sprinters will happily do 400k with regular servicing

Its coming in on all new vans very soon. Itl preomte serious road rage etc.. Imagine how annoying trucks are now and how annoyed youl be when more
and more vehicles get slowed down.
Trouble is theyr getting faster with these new euro 4 engines etc. Iv had big vans over 90 before (on private roads). Scary when the wind gets them.
Hardly surprising its come in.

Been having serious discussion with the Mrs about this recently, NZ is a seriously beautiful country with the huge advantage of not being run by a
bunch of cretins.
Having to look after her mum puts a bit of a spanner in the works though.

Only a few vans will be limited. There's only the biggest Transit that will fall foul, and only if it's plated to gross more than
3.5tonne, but most are plated below this to avoid having to have a tachograph. Same thing applies to Sprinters. Most affected will be the 7.5tonne LGV
brigade of wannabee artic drivers, some of which could do with slowing down a bit. Don't forget that the limiter is set at only 4mph below the
current legal limit for Transit sized vans anyway, not that many White Van Men adhere to that limit either.
DO NOT PUT ON KNOB OR BOLLOCKS!

Exactly - can't see it affecting many people to be honest. Even a standard LWB high-roofline Sprinter is still only a 3.5 tonne gross vehicle.
You have to spec the heavy duty rear axle to make it a 4.5 tonner.

It will probably push the sales up on vans under 3.5 tonnes.
