Million Candle Power Torches

We're moving out to the country in a week and in order to light up trespassing city types in the dark so I can shoot them with my gun Im thinking about buying one of those mega torches - you know the kind that throw out millions of candela.

Question is - ebay is listing loads of them and I saw some down at B&Q the other day and they all look, well, a little bit plasticky and crap.

Which got me thinking - Im guessing that it doesnt really matter if the bulb is rated to give mega high light output if the reflector is naff - bit difficult to tell just by looking so....

Reccomend me one somebody?

I bought one for £10 from Macro - 5million candle power I think. It worked really well, would light things up at incredible distance so you should be able to get trespassers into your sights easily! Only thing is that the bulb has blown and it is a 100watt, 12 volt bulb and I haven't bothered chasing around for a replacement yet.

I've got one. It lights up the garden pretty well - like daylight. Big problem is the battery only lasts about 10 min before needing a charge.

If I needed to use one allot, I'd buy a bike battery and make up a shoulder strap. Then I'd find a way to attach a handle to a headlamp and connect the two with a piece of wire.

I got a 1 million a few years ago, but you can get 5 million candle power ones from pretty much anywhere for not much wedge. trouble is though they take about a day to charge up and give you about 10 minutes! Not much use for "a walk in the park at night", but handy for scaring people - or lighting the moon up

There also good for p***ing off motorists

I've been on the receiving end travelling home along a local country road at night. The owner aimed straight in my eyes and i was totally blinded. Didn't half slow down quick, fortunatelly on the back stuff

I used to experience this kinda thing when riding my moped down the lanes at night, when drivers wouldn't dip their lights i'd ride straight at them until they realised and dipped them! It got worse when I got a 125 as I was travelling that much faster!

Tell us all about it then!
How much?
Where from?
Is it one of those Dragon Lights the Constabulary use. They are awesome.
Or is it a DIY/Locost?

Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

Jambo,

If you're taking to the country way of life, why not get a couple of feck-off big dogs, backed up by some angry geese (very effective apparently). That should help deter any thieving scum
