Nissan primera gt woes..

Is anyone familiar with these?? I know a bloke that has one. It cut out when he came to a junction and is now making a bad rattling noise from the engine. Its sounds like the inlet cam has jumped a tooth on the chain or tappet broken.. Its runs ok but has a very slight misfire. Is there any common problems on these before i pull it apart?

Just say your to busy, I volunteered to fix a neighbours volvo (change the head gasket) took ages (52 bolts on the rocker cover alone!!), I snapped the camshaft in my Nissan sunny, might be that, sounds very similar. Very brittle cams.

I've worked on these pieces of shite.

We bought one with a shagged motor, no oil pressure and rattling, so we put a new motor in, the second motor had the same faults as yours, until it died.

Motor no. 3 ran for 3 months and the cam chain tensioner came out and self destructed the engine !

Walk away ? Or if you can't I'd check the cam chain, tensioner and timing.
