what a bad i have just had

set about changing the front pipe on my godsons suzuki alto.
jacked car up to find that in there wisdom suzuki weld the bolts into place from the cat to front pipe, so the whole exhaust has to come off i 1 piece so i can drill the bolts out.
so what seem ages get the exhaust off in one place after a lot of moving jack and axle stands.
set about grinding captive nuts and drilling the bolts out, only for cordless drill to run flat, so off home to pick up cord drill.
drilled out bolts, bit of grinding the new section to get a good fit. now to refit the exhaust, i could not get it to fit, moved the car tried again after much messing with jacks and axle stands still nothing.
so decided need extra height on jacks phones up dad to bring some 4x3, dad got lost twice in 2 miles to my godsons house. tried again with blocks of wood on top of jack and axle stands (car was very unstable). nothing could not get exhaust over the rear axle. tried all ways and could not get it to fit
so in a moment of wisdom decided car needs to go on ramps and front jacked up, so off to dads pick up ramps, pushed the suzuki up the ramps. jacked the front of car up, within 10 mins exhaust fitted, bolted up.

the whole job took me 8 hours to fit , if i had used ramps in the first place would of taken me 1 hour.

moral of this story dont agree to change exhaust using a jack and take all the tools you need in the first place.

no no, the moral of that is either dont fix peoples cars for them, or set up a garage and charge £40 per hour!

For what they charge any exhaust jobs i ever encounter find there way too a quick fit center, too many bruised knuckle neck ache days like you have had made me realise that.
