tin top tyre recommendations?
time to put the newish fronts on the worn out rears and get a new pair, so what are peoples favourites at the moment?
Last couple of pairs/sets have been falken ze512 and toyo t1-r. I recall bridgestone potenza re720 being suggested previously but they no longer seem
to be available on mytyres.
tyre size is 205/55/16 looking at no more than £50 a tyre.
cheers all,
Ned.
ps the falkens lasted about 15k on the front of my torquey diesel and the toyos were already part worn when I bought the car, I did about 10k on them
myself. Is that sort of wear good, bad or normal?

I used to run my old Audi on P6000s.
Damn good in both wet and dry, and lasted over 15k on the front, and about 30k on the rear.
Ed.
P.S. TVR uses T1-Rs, and they also seem very good. Cant comment on the wear though, as only done 1500 miles in it. Many of the TVRCC sprint boys use
them as they seem to be the best grip per pound spent.

Just put some CF1's on my Focus TDCI as a change from the P6000's which I have always used previously. I find that they are much quieter
running, the Pirellii's sounded like the wheel bearings were shot, particularly when worn.
So far the CF1's seem no worse, perhaps even better in terms of grip. Not been on long enough to see how they wear.

Wear is quite dependent on the car, for example my old MR2 used to trash a set of rear tyres in about 6k, that's quite normal apparently
