Puts it into perspective...

I was watching a programme called "The road to Le Mans" on Sky today, which started off with a few interesting facts...

Like: "It is the equivalent of driving from Paris to Istanbul and back in one day"

And: "It is the same distance as all the F1 races in one whole season, run together".

When you consider that those cars are not a lot slower than F1 ones, that's rather impressive! (I know that F1's can corner faster, but you know what I mean). And considering that one of the current top cars is a diesel as well...

Not quite break - just that last year they were more favourable for the diesels, the ACO have been fiddling with the rules to try and make them more even this year. Will be two diesel runners this year - Audi and Peugeot.

I dont think the diesels will have so much of an advantage this year. They were also very lucky it didnt rain. The wednesday evening practise it pissed down and they were a way behind the Pescarolos, too much torque!

Just hoping the Peugeots arent as quiet as the Audis!

What Sky channel was the programme on, I've heard about it and really want o see it. Might be repeated.

distance wise maybe, but although it is faster, there aren't any sheep on the roads, juggernauts etc.

Ah.. the hard question... it was in the 'documentaries' section, hang on...

Found it! Discovery Wings, Thursdays, 6:00 and 9:00.

A really good and informative programme.
