Tin Top warranty
Alright?
My mate bought a Lagunna which is still covered by a private warranty. clutch failed today as the bearing colapsed and the forks went through the
cover plate. Whilst removing the gearbox they broke the "manifold cat" (Their words not mine).
Does anyone think that this would be covered by a warranty or would they just hit you with wear and tear?

Most warranties exclude clutch plates, brake linings, exhausts as these are considered consumable items. The bearing MAY not be in the exclusions,
worth a check. The cat is down to the clowns doing the job - there is no need to break anything when changing a clutch
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Check it out with the warrany company, some of them do cover certain wear and tear items or damage caused by wear and tear.
I'm looking at warrantydirect.co.uk right now as the wifes Megane is due out of warranty in a month or so and its track record is
...............shall we just say not entirely unblemished.
As for the damage caused by the repairer to the cat, take that up with them, any witness to the comment of " We broke it while removing the
gearbox "

Unfortunately the clutch will very likely be excluded as a consumable item. As Mark suggests, check the fine print for any mention of the release
bearing.

A laguna, oh dear..
I doubt youl find it will be covered by warranty unless your very lucky. They often get out of things like this due to "harsh
driving".
AS for the cat. If they broke it they should pay. Especially as they broke it to remove the gear box.
