If you log on to the Taiwanese ebay site (ebay.tw I think) you can leave feedback with more characters. Google it

sounds like sour grapes to me. You left -ve feedback and he wants revenge. An apology and full refund is nothing less than what you'd expect if they advertise something for sale and haven't got it. I'd want them to retract the -ve feedback.

I ordered a few hoses off the same person, just over a week ago,I emailed them just before I placed my order just to make sure they had them in stock in the colour I wanted,as I needed them within a couple of days, they said they had them all in stock,so I placed my order, still waiting over a week later not good

He says "contact to resolve" which, in ebay speak means he wants you to agree to a "mutual withdrawal" of feedback.

yeah totally - I dunno, I smell a rat - he's had 5 'mutually' retracted feedbacks but Im not going to - bo%%cocks actually, thats what happened, Im not gonna pretend I enjoyed waiting 3 weeks for something he didnt have to arrive!

Paul - just read your post again.....I think I would ask for my money back - I did it formally through a paypal dispute claim. He might have given me my money back without but I just had a funny feeling about it.

Hope it works out better for you!

And there was me thinking that was the whole point of feedback - to show what you thought of the transaction (buyer or seller). If someone advertises something and they don't have it in stock, that's false advertising!

If you emailed the seller to ask where the item was and was fobbed off, state this in a response to their feedback. Then, email ebay and state what happened and ask that your -ve feedback be removed. I've done this before when a buyer had won an item and then backed out after deciding that they didn't want it after all....

If they didn't want -ve feedback they shouldn't have advertised something that they didn't have in stock!

This is what annoys me about ebay feed back, that the seller can leave you negative feed back even after you have paid for a item, and in doing so completed your part in the contract,I think if you have paid for a item they should have to leave you positive feed back immediatley, then its up to them to provide there part of the contract in supplying your item on time and in the condition it was discribed.

I can't see your problem.

He hasn't called you a liar or anything that is detrimental to your status on ebay, just confirmed that he was in the wrong.

anybody thyat reads your negative will see it is retaliatory feedback..

He has broke the rules and run an auction for something he doesnt have..

Would let it stand and contact ebay to possibly have the retaliatory feedback removed...

He has very little leg to stand on, as he has even said it is retaliatory!

I agree that this is the problem with ebay feedback - you don't appear to have done anything wrong, but are suffering for it in your rating. I actually think that in the circumstances you have described negaitve feedabk for the seller is justified and not leaving it would be doing other buyers a dis-service. After all, if the rating is all positive you would trust the seller, but a few negatives at least warn that things may not be ideal. Trouble is, someone now looking at your feedback without reading fully (and as it goes further from the top this is more likely) may think you are not to be trusted which shold not be allowed to happen in my opinion.

I know its annoying but if you've plenty of +Ve feedback then it shouldn't really be a problem.

I ordered a "Genuine Nokia hands free".. the first only worked in 1 ear.. emailed them and got another sent, fair enough
Only the second the plug was on the wrong way round so it would never work.. Emailed them twice after and no responce.

So I just -ve'd them saying they weren't Genuine... only for them to -ve me back saying I was lieing! and it was 2 much hassle to take it up with ebay so just left it as that!.. again if prople buying or selling with you look at the reasons then i'm sure they'd full accept and understand.

I've never had any problems since
