Pub planning permission
I live adjacent to a rugby club, the back area of which is derelict. They are planning to develope the area and move the beer garden from the front
of the pub to rear. This would bring the beer garden and smoking enclosure within about 30 feet of all the bedrooms in our bungalow. Obviously this
is undesirable from our point of view.
Do you think this type of development would require planing permission?
What do you think the best way to object to this would be? Is there anyhting official we could do other than writing a letter to the commitee
Many Thanks

My best advice is not to write letters but go and see them face to face. Ask them what noise and visual protection they are planning.
Talking first is advisable as writing letters can turn into mis understandings.
I would think they have to have planning permission plus acohol licences etc to do this and I am sure your privicy is part of that.
Find out what they intend to do in detail before you make any complaints in writing.

as far a i know (having never had this kind of issue.... but more relating to the guy across the road from me building an extension) they will need
planning, because i assume they are going to to have to build a new beer garden, patio etc, they will need planning permission, there is a period of
time (can't remember how long though) for people to object, and the details of the planning request should be posted in your town hall during
this time. get as many of your neighbours as you can to object and this should be able to stop it going through

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

i'm just about to do the same to the pub we own and you need planning permission, and the local licencing board have to give there approval as
you are changing the foot print of the pub. I would say that the first port of call is to lobby the licencing board and planning department, put in a
really strongly worded letter from as many people as possible.
