Just think, with all this money recouped, councils will have more to do things like this with:

Some of us remember the mess the conservatives made in the 80s totally destroying all the manufacturing base in the UK to squash the unions
Time to give the Liberals or the Greens a go they could not do anything worse than the Labour and Conservatives have managedin the last 25
years

As I remember it it was the unions who killed manufacturing and Maggie trying to break their stranglehold on the country.
Take Peugeot at Ryton. Due to union demands and threats the production line workers earned £25K. For putting a few screw in
Now that Peugeot have closed the factory to get cheaper build costs abroad, who's fault is it.
Had the unions accepted that a fair wage for this was around £18-19K the factory would probably still be there. Most of the redundant folk probably
now earn less than this but will blame Peugeot as they are too short sighted to realize that they were brainwashed by unions too wrapped up in having
a fight.
I was once in the TGWU but as soon as the closure of the facility was announced they disappeared. No more chance to collect funds so no point hanging
around.
Unions..... They make my blood boil!

Don't forget that the french Peugeot employees also have far better redundancy than the equiv Brit employee. It cost Peugeot about £25k to sack
someone here, but 4 times that in France for similar .
THAT is Bliars idea of looking after uk jobs. The french gov also wouldn't let an insolvent Citroen/Peugeot/Renault be sold to the chinese.
I wouldn't vote liberal or green. Libs will give even more rights to cons, illegals and minorities and greens will tax you just for
breathing.

And the other viewpoint :- Some of us remember the mess the conservatives made in the 80s totally destroying all the manufacturing base in the UK to
squash the unions.
Are both valid opinions but this statement :- "Due to union demands and threats the production line workers earned £25K. For putting a few
screw in" makes me wonder. What price do you put on your time and how much do you think you are worth? If it wasn't for the unions you
would still be working a 96 hour week at the age of 11 pulling pit tubs sunshine, that's what the Tories think of you. You are fodder, grist for
their mill and don't ever think any different.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Harsh but oh so very true!!
This really pi$$es me off that yet again the motorist is getting screwed to subsidise this crap government with their 100+ stealth taxes!! To make
matters worse we have the prospect of a certain Mr G Brown to look forward to as Prime Minister soon - you know - the bloke who's major coup at
the recent budget was to knock 2p of the basic rate of income tax. Shame he forget to mention all the effects this has with the
"smallprint" meaning if you are on less than about £18k you are worse off and that considering we are all being encouraged to save for our
retirement so heavily he's just knocked 2% off the value of your personal pension contributions if you earn below the 40% tax band as they are
paid net of basic rate tax. Wont even go into all the other little things on this subject!!
How about we start a petetion on the No.10 website to make it lawful for witnesses to bill the police for giving evidence?? Can you see that getting
the green light???
Grrrr - rant over

Oh yeah.... French employment, just the system we want to replicate here!!!
(UN)employment stubbornly fixed at 9%!!!
And as for UKIP???? Bunch of closet racists!
The key is not to let any of them stay in power too long, that's when they get complacent and things start to f#ck up!
Cheers,
James
