Lying weather reports!!!! aka ST1100 dyno run / rejet @ TTS

Set off bright and early this morning for TTS. Weather report when I checked it last night said "overcast, some chance of rain".....

90 minutes there, 90 minutes back..... The rain started after 20 minutes and carried on until I got back...... Oh well!!!

The good news is they sorted out the carbs (the left bank was running lean on partial throttle)... Rather than flog me some Dynojet needles they made up some shims out of washers and shimmed the OEM needles... They even let me borrow their wideband sensor and innovate reader so I could take it for a spin and make sure it had cured it (and see what was happening to the Lambda if not)..... And it was cured Much better....
After 2 hours of work and free shimming washers they charged me for an hour on the dyno!!! Bargain.... Top bloke... Knattered for a while about supercharged bike engines (bloke there races a blown bike).... Really top service- they could have suggested I bought all their fancy bits for the supercharger project like forged pistons, decompression plates etc but infact just recommended a double head gasket.... Top!!!

The only bad news is that my clutch is f'ed!!! The power curve is nice and amazingly linear (almost exactly 20BhP @ 2k, 40Bhp @ 4k, 60Bhp @ 6k)- but the power runs always stopped @ 7000k cos then the power went to the floor and the revs went v fast Boohoo.... Still, when the red-line is 8500 I should get around 75-80Bhp @ the wheels which isn't too shabby for a 1990 engine on carbs.... Take away the transmission loses and that's not too bad at the flywheel... Better go and buy some clutch bits (and yet another load of engine oil)....
