Theiving b******s!!!

Had my VW Sharan broken into last night. They broke the door lock to gain entry and looked into evey cubby hole and placed everything neatly on the seats including headphones, chargers etc but all they nicked was a couple bought CD's and a few copied CD's.

The odd thing was that the windows were down which apparently is a VW thing. It's apparently incase you end up in a lake and it enables you to get out the car.

the other od thing was that we didn't hear the alarm go off and no one else did either (or they just haven't told us yet!) We wake up when we hear other peoples alarms as it's so quiet here so i recon the alarm didn't go off. Whats the point of an alarm if it didn't go off!!!

Oh well at least i get to drive round in a shoe box till mine gets fixed. I must say Direct line have been spot on and very quick to sort things.

Coffee...i need a coffee

sure it wasn't the wife cleaning up?

very odd things to steal, obviously don't have Limewire

that window thing doesn't work seen it tested on mythbusters and the window motors can't pull them down against the water pressure. I have and orange hammer thing.

Sorry to hear about the break in.

The windows thing is a VW pitfall, don't want to say too much as this is a public forum but the alarm would not have sounded after what the thieves did to gain entry.

Hope you get it all sorted soon.

It's amazing what some people will do to get to an Abba CD isn't it

I once had my Prelude's windows smashed in and all they took was a cheap and nasty CD head unit which didn't work anyway!

I hope the little scumbags who broke into your car get what they deserve

I've got a speed camera thingy that uses a magnetic base. Get worried someone will see that and decide to break in because of it.

Anyone know if they are they are popular a target for theives as the sucker mark?

I've got an alarm system with a flashy light...and a Rottweiler & a Doberman. That pretty much does it...a neighbor of mine used to have a sign that said "My dogs can get from my door to my fence in 3.1 seconds. Can you?"...I might have to get one of those signs. Certainly give chavs a pause, wouldn't it?

My mate, who shall we say is 'a bit of a character', with medieval ideas on justice, has a brass plate on his front door with the legend; THERE IS NOTHING IN THIS HOUSE WORTH DYING FOR engraved on it.
Seems to work. I suppose it could be adapted for a vehicle.

am not sure about the sucker mark being a target, i have left a mount stuck to the windscreen of our micra for months now and nothing has happened, i live in a fairly dodgy area too. but then i guess an scabby 80's micra isn't the most obvious target for a sat nav thief.
