Chassis Choices

Does anyone have any experience with the robin hood or lolocost chassis.

Im going to be building a 'seven' replica with a zetec engine, and i need some advice before parting with my hard earned cash.

Thanks
Tony

Robin Hood and Lolocost have a poor reputation for quality on here, being from the same company.

Alternatives to consider would be Luego, MK and stuart taylor amongst others.

Take your time it's an important decision.

Visit as many as you can. It's fun!

Cheers

Chris

though i havent fiddled with any pre-fabbed chassis, i was at MK the other day and they looked awesome, as in weld quality, structure etc. really depressing how shite mine looked in comparison.

search for lolocost for a laugh... complaints seem to include poor finish and alignment

MK and luego seem to be held in high regard though, and i'll vouch for MK engineerings competence and service.

now wheres that cloth to clean shite off my nose?

Just one thought about using a zetec, we were going to do this and it was very much a squeeze in a Luego book chassis. We have now abandoned the zetec and are going BEC route. Don't let this put you off though, Luego now build wider and longer chassis (Viento) so this might be an option.

Agreed, a Zetec in a book chassis is a squeeze: but I found that it was the height that was the problem, not the width or the length. I have been told that the MK chassis is 35mm taller than book and there are people on here who seem to have had far less difficulties in fiting it into an MK than I am into a standard book. If I was to start again I would increase the height of the book chassis.

Im pretty much committed to using a Zetec now (as ive bought it).

Is anybody following Tiger's version of "build your own sports car"?
