Decent Yokohama All rounders

Can anyone recommend some decent Yokohama tyres for everyday tin top use?

What are A539s like? I've heard mix results. (Got them on the front of the Indy and they seem fine, but only use it in the dry)

The reason they have to be yokos is I get a good deal through work.

I've now done about 12k miles on A539s on my mojo, and I'm pleased with them. There are softer, grippier tyres around, but if you want something that lasts they are great (looks like mine should give me another 5k at least before needed changing). Plus a set cost me just over £100...

Other Yokos to consider are the A021Rs (rated well for all weathers, but will only last a few 1000 miles) and the A048Rs (great in the dry, OKish in the wet...)

I ran A539 205/50 15s on my old Audi 90 Quattro and loved them. I also have a set on the Locost.

As others have mentioned they are a good balance between reasonable grip (wet & dry I found) and lifespan. A friend informs me their 4x4 tyres are pretty poor however.

Thanks

I drove a Fury on Avon CR500s and it was very nice!!! Better grip in the wet than a539s. Pretty expensive though and not so sure about durability.....

I would concur with the above, 21's seem to give the best compromise of dry/wet performance if you can't cope with 48's in the wet (they aren't good), but they do wear quite quickly. A539s are harder wearing but not quite as grippy in either situation from what I understand.
