Too many chargers

Packing for a trip, realised that the charger situation is getting way out of control. - maybe the gadget situation as well.

1 X Cell phone
1 x SWMBO's Cell Phone
1 x Blue Tooth ear piece
1 x Laptop
1 x GPS
1 x Ipod
1 x Digital Camera

Why oh why can't it be one size fits all because most are same Voltage but each with a different plug.

Just as well I have a beard otherwise there would be another for the electric razor.

Just remembered - there's another for the electric screwdriver in the toolbox.

i was wondering the other day why my tom tom charger cant charge my phone, since both take a usb plug? Different volts though, so i guess the phone ignores the usb voltage and only charges through the dedicated charge plug.

You make a good point though, its getting ridiculous. At least i dont need an ipod no more, since the phone is better! Thinking about it, it does sat nav too!

You can get multi-adapters with different connectors and voltages.

A trip, which I'm guessing is a holiday, away from the madding crowd. In which case

1 X Cell phone - not required
1 x SWMBO's Cell Phone - not required
1 x Blue Tooth ear piece - not required
1 x Laptop - not required
1 x GPS - not required
1 x Ipod - not required
1 x Digital Camera - required

ATB

That is a recipe for disaster surely....Wrong voltage = kaboom to that expensive new toy What is needed IMO is a charger that auto senses the different charging voltages. Can't be that difficult, after all most modern chargers can auto sense the mains voltage.

Unfortunately it's a business trip and all are required.

could the laptop not be used to charge the ipod, that way dont need its charger just its cable. you should get a fone with a camera, gps, mp3 player and fone all in one that way 4 things become one

Unless they make 20 Gb phones it will be a while before I put everything on one - European or US maps take a lot of room up let alone a good selection of songs and room for plenty of high quality images and video.....

One day though

If you're not living life on the edge you're taking up too much room.

Yes - have just bought an Ipaq 6915 which is pretty much one size fits all but need a while to get used to it and fully confident in it's and my abilities.

Also a bit bulky for all day use compared to a phone. And lacks the 80 GB of memory I need for CAD plans and other things plus screen too small.

Basically bought it for it's ability to link photo with GPS location which for my business is pretty useful.

The above gives rise to another gripe - why am I so dumb that I can't understand the instruction manual or the website (especialy when it comes to setting up the f#@^ng thing) or is it that they can't be understood by anyone?

with electronics getting smaller every day soon it will be possible to have high capacity flash memory in well priced mass consumer products.

personally i dont know why people need so much space on there ipod, i have a 2gb nano, i just set the bit rate to 80kps and delete the albums i never listen to, sounds just as good to me as the default (i think) 196kps and i demand excellence in sound thats why i spend about a grand on a hifi system nd projector.

im holding out on getting a new phone cause i want a 5 in 1 type thing
