Anyone in Blackburn / Darwen / Leyland area?

I have a strange wish or need to build a road going vehicle. Something of my own, smallish, and not necessary meant to race.

I have been looking at a formula 600 Autograss car and then modifying it to pass the SVA, but reading through some of the forum web pages not sure if this is a starter.

I would like to work with the idea of a BEC and would even consider starting with the smaller 600 cc variety, and going larger if required. Think fun car rather then out and out power and speed!

I will go and buy the Haynes book if it is the only way to start and it helps with the SVA, but what I would really like to find is some like minded folk in the same area, so that I can discuss and look at others projects.

This sounds like a lonely hearts club message I know, but I do have permission to build from SWMBO, so do not want to miss the opportunity. I have two years to complete before the big 50, Is this a middle age crisis?

Cheers

Adrian

Try speaking to Gav mate, he's in your area and has a good BEC build going on. There also used to be a monthly meet up there where you could speak to a few other lads, mainly Robin Hood. There's alsp Mitch2b who pops on here from time to time. I'm down in Bolton.

Looks as though I must get in touch with Gav and see if I can get invited over.

Cherry tree area is also under 10 mins away as I am not far from jnct 4 off Milking lane.

Adlington again only a few miles away,

So any takers wouldn't mind inviting me over for a look see? in the evenings.

Also just picked up a Haynes book, not the one on the front of this forum but very similar.

Build your own Sports car on a budget by Chris Gibbs. Seems to be the same car different perspective. Has lots of diagrammes with dimensions, so now need to clear space in the garage.
