mixing domestic halogen andflourecent bulbs

My kitchen light fitting has 4 x 50w halogen spot ligh bulbs. One has blown and I was looking at 11w flourecent replacements.

Question is, can you mix the 2 different types of bulb or would you have to change to all flourecent?

Cheers
Nick
