MAP Open aurograss event, biggest motorsport event ever??????

Well WOW what can i say!!!

I have just got back from the MAP open autograss event near Stratford (run by Evesham Autograss Club) and it broke all records this year, for the 3rd year running.

903 (yes nine hundred and three) drivers signed on, making it a MASSIVE event, and it was NOT disappointing!!!

Probably the best moment of the weekend was Vinny Gibbons' second heat rerun in his chevy powered class 10 special.

He went the "long way round" right round the outside of the evesham track without backing off, to win by half a lap over twin bike engine serious competition, in a show of driving skill and sheer b0110cks that I have never seen before.........................coming into the corners at 90mph sideways and clearing the barrier by a foot on every lap was just awesome.

Also impressive was the performance of the twin Suzuki TL1000 powered class 7's, which managed to beat twin r1's and the like, somewhat to my surprise and happiness, as my twin aprilia mille's should be able to cut the mustard!!!

The weather was amazing and stayed very hot and dry and I am now very sunburnt!!!!!!

PS nice job on the commentary as usual by Dave Walker (newark race engines, locostbuilder and visitor on here)

I kept my hangovers there, plenty of beer and wine and Bec and I even had Champers on ice on Fri night plus prawn cocktails made by me and eaten fresh from the billy can, followed by barbequed steak sarnies!!!!!!

Flipping hell it was sunny, I am now incredibly sunburnt after being out in it without shade from 7am till midnight on Sat and 7am till 4pm Sunday!!!!!!11
