i very much doubt he was twice over the limit on 2 pints and a glass of wine, unless he had 2 pints of vodka

he was 61mg rather than the legal 35mg, which is nearly twice. Two pints in a little guy would put you well over the limit, the wine being a good top
up!
What a complete twat though, how he ever thought it at all possible he was under the limit in just half an hour after all that - especially when
he's involved in road safety himself.
My father in law got banned after drinking a single pint.

1 pint (2 units) will take most people to the legal limit.
Another pint and a large wine would certainly take you well over.
