RS Components

Just need to get this off my chest....

Has anyone else had dealings with ordering parts online (connectors) from RS Components. The plugs/receptacle section is; to be fair, diabolical.

I looks like I shall have to return most of my order due to things not being clear on the website. I hate it when that happens...

To add though - their helpline was good!

There... feel much better now!!

Steve

In five years only had two probs with RS, and they were items incorrecly sent by them.

I personally think they are the most reliable company around for consistent delivery.

Only used there customer service twice as all of my ordering is online. The fact that you can place an order upto 8pm at night and it arrives next day free of charge is a good service.

Yes they are a tad expensive on some things, but it depends on what your buying and the reliability makes up for it.

Just my two penny worth.

at GEC we used to call them Arse Components rather than RS Components. That said, they do deliver next day and so can get you out of a hole when needed.

I have found the online catalog to be very unreliable. They changed to a new stores system [SAP] last year and it doesent seem to work very well.I often find parts are out of stock with long lead times and also the web site part numbers dont agree with the paper catalog at times etc.
I use Farnells mainly now even though Iwas able to get discount with RS .

I use Farnells too ( and their CPC arm)

Excellent delivery with them. Ordered with CPC last night and gone 6. Waiting for me when I got to work this morning. Their standard delivery too - not timed or anything!

Rapid Electronics is good for most commonly used electronic / electrical components, think of it as a cheap Maplin on steroids.

Ive just received an order today that I put through yesterday, and its far easier to find bits on their website than RS as well!

yrah, hada couple of probs with website where the component show was not the saem as the one in the catalogue - even tough it was their mistake, I know I should have done a calvinX on them, , if I wanted to return it, I would have had to pay - the item was less than a pound so it wasn't worth it but it made me
